Kano is a multi-media creative who primarily works with wood as her canvas. Her artwork incorporates found materials, up-cycled in hopes of restoring life and beauty to them once again. Drawing on the multicultural intersection of her Japanese ancestry and Maui-grown experience, her work blends wafū 和風 elements with concepts of aloha ‘āina. With the belief that "art is the purest expression of a soul," she inspires to represent foundational values of the waking world as well as portals to the dreamy, spirit world.
