I often think of the stars and of the depths of the sea, of infinite potentiality. Core to the human experience are many dualities: Feeling lost and sometimes found, or being tiny specks in the great expanse while egocentric in our day to day. How can all of these contorted, imperfect parts of oneself ever be accepted as whole? I’ve observed that in some moments, these lost and seemingly unlovable particles fall into the hands of people, places, and self. The deep embrace that holds—with care—the possibility to be all complicated aspects of oneself, even for a fleeting moment. In growth lies the possibility of becoming both that which is accepted and the hands that receive. This delicate practice grows its roots further into my process of self acceptance. Maybe one day my hands will be big enough to hold me all and you.
